Lanarkshire Golf Association represents the 40 member clubs of Lanarkshire, and 31 golf courses. This website will provide information on Junior and Men's Golf within the region, including; up to date news, a calendar of fixtures, results of competitions, county matches, and team matches, and much more.

Message From The President

We hope this website will also become an interactive tool for our members, allowing members to post their feedback and views. May I take this opportunity of wishing everyone a great golfing year and assure you of our drive in growing Golf in Lanarkshire.

History

Lanarkshire Golf Association was formed in 1953. The co-founding president in 1953 was John S.Montgomerie of Cambuslang, a former Scottish Amateur Champion. Today the association has grown to a membership of over 30 member clubs.

The Assiciation are responsible for regional Competitions, choosing the venues, date and terms, conditions and rules under which the Competitions shall take place, to enact or alter bye-laws which shall be binding on all Members and do all things necessary in their opinion for the conduct of the business and carrying out the Object of the Association.

Over the years Lanarkshire has produced many great golfers who like John S. Montgomerie have gone on to claim the Scottish Amateur title, golfers such as Craig Everett, Graham Rankin, Craig Heap, and Steven O'Hara. Steven O'Hara, the most recent of these successes, had previously claimed both the Scottish and British Boys Championships.
