The course is located just outside the historic market town of Lanark in the upper Clyde Valley. By road it can be reached in less than an hour from both Glasgow (25 miles) and Edinburgh (35 miles). Proximity to the M74 motorway makes Lanark Golf Club an ideal first or last stop for those on a travelling golf holiday from England
The 6428 yard, par 70 layout provides a rewarding challenge to golfers of all abilities. The course has been host to the R&A on 11 occasions as a regional pre-qualifying venue for the Open Championship. In 2005 the British Girls Championship was played here, and it is a frequent PGA Tartan Tour venue. The Scottish Girls Championship was held at Lanark in July 2009.
