Newlands Trophy

Venue: Lanark

Date: 17-18th July

Past Champion: Allyn Dick (Kingsknowe)

The 6428 yard, par 70 layout provides a rewarding challenge to golfers of all abilities. The course has been host to the R&A on 11 occasions as a regional pre-qualifying venue for the Open Championship. In 2005 the British Girls Championship was played here, and it is a frequent PGA Tartan Tour venue. The Scottish Girls Championship was held at Lanark in July 2009.

First played in 1912, the Newlands Trophy is one of the oldest events in the domestic calendar and is the final counting event of the SGU Order of Merit season. It is a 72-hole event with a 36 hole cut for top 40 and ties. Callum Macaulay tied Bernard Gallagher's course record of 63 on his way to winning the 2007 title. It is played every year at Lanark Golf Club
